Profiles
PPD – LINEAR DRAINAGE PROFILE GRAVEL GUARD OR CONTAINMENT PROFILE
PPD linear drainage profile to be arranged near perimeters to confine green roof areas/paved areas or as a separator of perimeter gravel drainage strips to separate gravel and substrate or as containment of the green roof system. The angular profile has slots on the vertical wing and on the support wing with drainage function. The wings of the profile have different sizes in order to better suit the different thickness requirements of the project. The profiles will be laid in line by employing the appropriate connectors.
Material | Profile height (mm)* | Length (mm) |
Painted aluminium | 50/80, 80/120, 100/150, 250/250 | 2000 |
1.4301 Stainless steel | 50/80,80/120, 100/150, 250/250 | 2000 |
Aluzinc | 50/80, 80/120, 100/150, 250/250 | 1000 |
*different dimensions from those indicated can be custom-made.
When the PPD profile is used at the edge of flat roofs as a stable containment of green roof solutions, as an alternative to curbs, the positioning of the profile will be done through the PPD-FIX connectors. The connector has two holes on the support wing that will allow attachment to the waterproofing membrane by spot welding a strip of waterproofing membrane compatible with that installed in the roof.
Advantages of the solution:
- containment can be made on existing roofs where there is no perimeter curb
- the thickness at the façade of the perimeter containment is reduced, a thickness that will only be equal to the thickness of the green roof stratigraphy (the curb would otherwise have to be at least 10 cm higher than the finished height of the green roof)
- no mechanical fastening of the profile on waterproofing is provided
Note: The system can be used for roofs with a maximum pitch of 2°.
The diagram shows the various possible applications of the PPD profile also combined with the PPD-FIX connector to anchor it to the support (num 11 in the figure) in the case of roofs with an inclination of no more than 2°/2.5°.
As an alternative to the num 11 shown in the figure, the PPD+PPD-FIX combination can be considered for installation of the PBD profile.
PPD – LINEAR RETAINING DRAINAGE PROFILE USED ON SLOPING SURFACES COMBINED WITH TSH THRUST BEARING BRACKETS
PPD Drainage Guard Profile to be arranged near the perimeters of surfaces sloping at least 12° (21.25%) in conjunction with TSH thrust bearing brackets. The angular profile, in this case, has the function of stable containment of the green roof system, as an alternative to prefabricated or cast-in-place curbs. The advantages are:
- Providing containment even in the absence of perimeter curbs,
- Reducing the thicknesses of the crowning element of the façade, which in this case will be equal only to the height of the green roof system (the curb should be at least 10 cm higher for membrane lapels).
It is suggested for uses on inclined planes such as containment:
Material | Profile height (mm)* | Length (mm) |
1.4301 Stainless steel | 50/80,80/120, 100/150, 250/250 | 2000 |
Aluzinc | 50/80, 80/120, 100/150, 250/250 | 1500 |
*different dimensions from those indicated can be custom-made.
TSH 80 and TSH 100 stainless steel thrust brackets to be used on the edge of green roofs combined with PPD containment drainage profiles to transfer the shear forces of the sloping system onto the load-bearing structure. The bracket part resting on the support is to be mechanically fastened to the bearing structure.
Material | Load capacity (kg) | Thickness/Width/Length [mm] | Height (mm) |
1.4301 Stainless steel | 150 (STAFFA TSH 80) | 5/40/400 | 80 |
1.4301 Stainless steel | 300 (STAFFA TSH 100) | 5/40/400 | 100 |
PPD-FLEX – CURVILINEAR DRAINAGE PROFILE CURVILINEAR GRAVEL/CONTAINMENT STRIP
PPD-FLEX angular drainage profile to be set up near the perimeters to confine green roof/paved areas or perimeter gravel drainage strips and to separate gravel and substrate. Provided with slots on the vertical wing with drainage and filter functions, provided with jointed joints to accommodate curved perimeter lines.
On flat roofing, the profiles shall remain in place by pressure connectors held in place with a ballast system, i.e., without any mechanical attachment of the profile to the waterproofed slab.
Material | Profile height (mm)* | Length (mm) |
Coated aluminium | 150 | 2000 |
1.4301 Stainless steel | 150 | 2000 |
Aluzinc | 150,200 | 1500 |
*different dimensions from those indicated can be custom-made.
PBD – LINEAR DRAINAGE EDGE PROFILE
PBD draining profile to be prepared near the perimeters as stable containment of the green hanging stratigraphy. The profiles will be laid in line by employing the matching connectors.
The profile has slits on the vertical wing while on the support wing it has perforations that allow the profile to be “attached” to the underlying watertight membrane; it will be sufficient to arrange a strip of the same material over the openings and spot weld it to the underlying sheet.
This type of anchoring of the profile to the waterproof membrane is allowed on roof edges with a maximum slope of 2°/2.5°.
Material | Profile height (mm)* | Length (mm) |
1.4301 Stainless steel | 150 | 2000 |
Aluzinc | 150,200 | 1500 |
*different dimensions from those indicated can be custom-made.
BORD LINER – CONFINEMENT PROFILE
Flexible and permanent metal profile for stable and elegant confinement and containment of green areas or for pedestrian paths. The connectors can be conformed with a blade for use on the ground or with two support wings for use on green roofs. The ductility of the system offers complete design freedom, creating straight and non-straight containments.
Material | Width (mm) | Profile height (mm)* | Length (mm) |
Corten | 2 | 100/150/200/300 | 1500 |
Coated aluminium | 2,5 | ||
Aluzinc | 1,5 |
PPF – DRAINAGE PROFILE FOR PLANTERS
Ornamental draining profiles for making bottomless planters on Harpoverdepensile systems. It consists of modular elements that can be assembled by means of special metal connection elements. When the installation is completed, the outer surface of the PPF ornamental element is uniformly free of visible connecting elements as all joining and connecting elements are prepared internally. The PPF profile is provided with slots at the base with drainage and filter functions. PPFs can be made of aluzinc (possibly coated according to RAL upon request) or corten.
The PPF system is flexible and can be adjusted to be used in multiple situations:
- Above continuous drainage where it is necessary to create areas of the rooftop with ornamental basins for shrubs/plants in general.
- For use as a containment system for green roofs on terraces with elevated, supported paving.
- To make ornamental confined perimeter borders.
Material | Profile height (mm)* | Base length (mm) |

Aluzinc | 400,600 | 250,300 |
P-MEC – PERIMETER PROFILE FOR CONTAINMENT AND MECHANICAL PROTECTION
P-MEC profile to be set up near the perimeters where there is supposed to be mechanical protection of the vertical flap of the waterproofing, which must rise on the containments at least 15 cm above the finished height of the roof garden. The P-MEC containment and mechanical protection profile also contains the lapels of the storage felt and filter cloth that track the waterproofing, protecting them from UV rays, weathering and mechanical damage. The profile is supplied in coated aluminum and aluzinc, both of which can be colored according to RAL upon request.
