 TerraMediterranea TME is designed with coarser grain size, very permeable, moderate fertility and higher pH, so as to encourage vegetation typical of cliffs and lean soils and discourage weeds. Extensive green roofs must be tools of sustainability and offer high benefits with low environmental and energy costs. For this reason, the TME substrate is peat-free, has good lightness and boasts high durability given by appropriate grain size choices and moderate use of organic matter with relatively high C/N ratio. Thanks to these characteristics, it meets the guidelines of DM March 10, 2020 (Minimum Environmental Criteria for Public Green).

The Harpo R&D laboratory performs continuous monitoring on the production of TerraMediterranea TMLight substrate. Performance and tolerances are declared on an analytical and statistical basis according to a rigorous specific process defined by Harpo’s UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. The substrate adheres to the UNI 11235:2015 standard.
